Our Names Database is now online and searchable. Currently there are over 1.5 million names from the genealogies, births/deaths records, marriages, obituaries, pedigree charts and other genealogical records in the library. These are indexed in the database. This user-friendly database allows a search by name, then displays the library number, and page number, for the name being researched. You can create and submit a list of the records you would like researched by e-mail, and our volunteers will photocopy and send the information to you by postal mail. The hourly rate for research is $20, with a minimum charge of $10. If your request will take longer than 1.5 hours ($30), we will contact you before proceeding.

The Heal Database is also online and searchable. This is an index compiled by Hugh Heal of 175,000 of the over 200,000 names in the Heal Collection at the MAGRC. As with the names database, a list of entries of interest can be compiled and e-mailed from the database to the MAGRC where volunteers will photocopy, assemble and mail the relevant material for a nominal fee.
